CEO says Kaspersky to provide own OS rather than make smartphones
MOSCOW, Sep 21 (PRIME) -- Russian antivirus software maker Kaspersky will offer its operating system Kaspersky OS to smartphone producers rather than manufacture own handsets, General Director Yevgeny Kaspersky said on Thursday at the SmartDev-2023 conference.
“There will be no Kasper-phones. We will not produce phones. We will give the operating system with software to the companies that make phones. Names of other firms will be written (on the back of devices), not of my company,” Kaspersky said.
He added that Kaspersky sticks to the strategy of Android, not of Apple.
The company earlier launched a browser on the prototype of a smartphone with Kaspersky OS, which already supports calls, SMSs, and application MyOffice.
